Simile is an explicit comparison between two unlike things through the use of connecting words, usually “like” or “as.” as it is a device used for comparison.
In bahasa Indonesia, simile adalah majas yang mengungkapkan ungkapan secara tidak langsung dengan perbandingan eksplisit.
We can use similes to make descriptions more emphatic or vivid. We often use the words “as…as” and “like…” with similes.
For example:
“These cookies taste like garbage.”, in bahasa Indonesia, “Rasa kuenya seperti sampah.”
“She walks as gracefully and elegantly as a cat.”
